The Sikh Society has been residing in undivided Madhya Pradesh and CP Barar from pre independence from the year 1900. The Sikh officers have been serving the area while employed in State Government, Central Government, Public Sector undertakings, Banks, Insurance Doordarshan and All India Radio etc. Most of the Sikh officers have become permanent residents of the state after retirement.
To share their knowledge and experience gained during the period of service for the betterment of society even after retirement, "Chhattisgarh Sikh Officers Welfare Association" was constituted. Subsequently many Sikh officers who are still in jobs were added as a member based on their request as they showed interest to be a part of association working for the noble cause.
The purpose of the Chhattisgarh Sikh Officers Welfare Association is "Sarbat da Bhala". Association has decided not to bind the perimeter of religion and work for the betterment of the under privileged class of society irrespective of caste and creed.
The first meeting of the association was held on 20.01.2018 in Hotel Blueberry Inn, Raipur and was carrying out the activities from the blueberry office. Subsequently Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Mahavir Nagar was kind enough to provide the space and the association established its office, medical consultancy chambers and pharmacy in Gurudwara an is now fully functional there.
